Burglary in Progress at 1890 Dogwood Drive, Conyers

The Sheriff’s Office is looking for a black male, approximately 5”8 – 6 ‘2 tall and thin build.  He appears to be in his 20’s.  I have attached a photograph of a black male that is believed to be a person of interest in this and other copper theft cases in the Salem Road area.  We believe he frequents the Salem Road area around the Quik Trip on a bicycle.  If you have any information on this person, please contact Investigator Troy Anderson at (770) 278-8157, or the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office at (770) 278-8000.

On June 10, 2011, the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office was called in reference to a burglary in progress at 1890 Dogwood Drive, Conyers.  The address is a Suzuki dealership that had been closed for sometime.  The caller worked for a BMW dealership that is owned by Suzuki, and was there to retrieve some desks to return back to the BMW dealership.  After entering the dealership he encountered a black male tearing apart the circuit box.   The suspect then fled the scene.  After deputies arrived and were able to clear the building, it was discovered that there was approximately $100,000.00 in damage to the property in an effort to steal all of the copper wiring on the property.
